‘Introduction to Computer Programming in Python for kids’

Computer skills are critical to success in any field today, programming skills will be in the future. Give your children a head start on computer programming by enrolling them in our program. We want all children to have the opportunity to participate in our program. We will provide need based financial assistance and make every effort to provide transportation assistance to all students.

This program is designed primary for the middle and early high school students.


 

What is the objective of this course?

The main objective of this program is to teach middle and early high school students how to code using
the Python programming language. Students will also learn basic programming/algorithm development
concepts.

What is the course schedule?

Classes will be held every Sunday from August 18 to December 15 from 12:30PM – 2:00M.

How much will it cost?

Our program is free. Students will be asked to pay one-time fee to cover for the course material (books,
printing, etc.) and to contribute towards the center operating expenses:
• Children of NCC members (Bronze or above) and Atlanta Nepali School students – $20.00
• All other students – $100.00

Our program will be held at: Nepali Cultural Center, 3591 Pleasantdale Rd, Atlanta, GA 30340

How do I register for the course?

You can register on the first day of the class (August 18th). If you need transportation assistance, please
contact one of the committee members.

What is Python?

Python is one of the most popular computer programming language in the world. It is easy to learn and
provides code libraries to rapidly develop applications in any field. It is also the most widely used
programming language in an introductory computer science course.

Why kids need to learn how to program a computer?

According to many experts, computer programming develops analytical and problem-solving skills. It is
a critical skill to have for the future generation. Since majority of the students will have to take
programming courses in high school and college, it will give them a head start.

Is financial and other assistance available?

We don’t want any children to be excluded from being able to take advantage of this program. Parents
with financial hardship can apply to have the program fee waived. We will also make every effort to
provide transportation assistance.

What are the parent and student responsibilities?

We expect students and parents to take responsibly of ensuring that students arrive on time, not miss
any classes, and complete all assignments in a timely manner.Provide Laptop or desktop at home to install Python Software for homework.
